Blog Star Sunday: Revathy of 'Helath n Beauty'
Its been a long week....actually it been a long month. I know things have been hectic on personal front and i haven't been able to concentrate on my little slice of heave,
"I am Revathy - an IT Team Lead by profession & happy-go-lucky gal in my personal life. I am one chatterbox & people who have known & been with me, know this quite well. I am an extremist too - If I love something or somebody, I know no bounds.. at the same time if I start hating something, I refuse to recognize its/their very existence in this world! My makeup & skincare funda is all about keeping simple & staple ones around. Other than loving makeup, blogging about it, I love cooking as much as eating out too. One big foodie I am... Lipstick or Lipgloss?

I have always been a lipstick person. One can find only 2 lip glosses in all of my lip stash.. However gr8 a lipgloss may have been reviewed & raved, I just don’t feel the urge to pick one! J
Working in a corporate doesn’t naturally allow me to flaunt glossy, shimmery lips… Hence my love for lipsticks - non-shimmery ones.

Nails: Short or Long?

I would say short or rather medium length. I love gals sporting well-manicured hands with long nails, painted to prettiness… I just take a deep breath at their beautiful nails & continue to trim mine.. J

Nails: Bright or Darks?

Anything – I love sporting different nail colors of all possible shades… but again generally stay away from glittery ones. I believe I have some genetic problem with ‘all that glitters & shimmers’.. J
I hoard nail paints of all colors like anything, but again don’t like splurging on one if more than 200 bucks.

Fashion: Studs or Dangly Earrings?

It has to be danglers & chandeliers. I got a round face..as round as any fruit or vegetable you can imagine… Big, chunky earrings tend to suit me a lot better (rather call it show up on my face) than simple studs.

Fashion: Heels or Flats?

Heels.. but not the stilettos type! Something that I feel comfortable walking in..above all comfortable staying in the whole day!

Rain or Shine?

Its ‘Rain, rain go away’ for me. I tend to catch cold pretty easily and usually spotted around either with a runny or a stuffy nose throughout the monsoon.
Atlast I like one thing that shines – the Sun! :D

Chocolate or Vanilla?

Rose – I love anything that smells of roses! Citrus-y & woody fragrances come next for me.
Vanilla is a distant cousin to my nose…I like it mild though.
I have grown over my chocolate phase now – don’t like anything made of chocolate - be it in edible form or in my products!

Beauty or Brains?

Brains hands down! I can’t stand a conversation with a no-brainer. At the same time I don’t deem beauty just by looks!

Watching T.V or Reading a Book?

Reading a book – I love reading fiction, short stories & some off-beat ones.. Was hooked on to Mills & Boons and self-improvement series back in school & college.
Thinking back.. I just can’t stop but laugh at myself being caught by my uncle for reading M&B at the “tender” age of 12!
My secret wish is to read books on someday… Suggestions welcome gals! :D

Current Face wash

I am currently trying a couple of cleansers from Lush.. Angels on Bare Skin & Aquamarina.I am quite impressed by them! So, have given a break to my face wash stash until then….

Your HG foundation

Revlon foundations have always been a big hit with me! Particularly their Colorstay range…
Revlon Colorstay Softflex Light Makeup is a go-to product for everyday use.Revlon Colorstay Whipped Crème Makeup is also a gr8 product!
Softflex one is my HG though….
If you could use only one makeup item, what would you use?
It has to be a kohl pencil… I can’t remember the last time I stepped outta the house without a kajal in my eyes ever since I was 12 or 13! J

If you have Rs50,000/- what would you spend it on? Clothes or makeup?

Almost everything I can lay my hands & set my eyes on – clothes, makeup, footwear, lingerie, bags, books,et al.
Won’t mind shopping for some organizers & bothering to fuel the car too to take me around for more shopping!

How old were you when you started wearing makeup.

The first time I tried makeup I was 14! My mom doesn’t wear any makeup till date..but my aunt does!
She was visiting us for the weekend & showing what gifts she got for us..I rummaged her vanity bag & started off with a Lakhme moisturizer, some Fair & Lovely cream and a mocha lipstick!

What pink object is nearest to you?

I had this baby pink chiffon suit some 5 years back with Lucknowi chikan work all over. Though the dress is non-existent now, I still treasure the dupatta/chunni of that dress till date.. hoping to pair it with some plain black, white or royal blue suit some day!
Biggest turn off
Quite a list I got – body odour, foul mouth, cigarette fumes… I also hate back-biters to the core! Can’t stand them…

Favorite breakfast food.

I love starting my day with South Indian breakfasts.. I’m totally habituated to it... You give me anything from this breakfast menu, you can expect me to gobble it down in minutes… Be it upma, poha, dosa, idli, paniyaram… I love them!
I love having a variety of homemade sandwiches too for breakfast!

Concerned social or environmental causes.

The recent atrocities against women have really bothered me a lot. Be it rape or any form of sexual abuse, domestic violence, harassment at workplace…It angers me, agitates me –above all make me feel helpless too. I am thankful I am blessed with good people around me.. and just wish every other gal the same too…

Your favorite accessory.

I love my earrings more than any other accessory!

A movie that lifts your mood

I really do not have any favorite movie as such. Well, I can remember me writing scores of favorite movie names back in school days when filling slam books… :P
But in reality… I am not a fan of any movie or any star!
It’s the people around me.. be it my family or friends & the joy we had watching the film together that uplifts my mood more than the movie itself!
But, yeah I do love Madagascar (I like to move it.. move it! :D)
